"SecurityMate" Paper Prototype and Use-Case Scenario
Winter Quarter 2014 (January 2014 - March 2014)
Overview
Researched and designed a potential use-case for aerial drones to be used by the general public, as a test of potential benefits and hazards of such technology becoming freely available. In our project, we focused on the limitations of drones as a security asset, and modeled a product and user case around this idea.
Project Manager
- Managed a team of 3 others, including my sister!
- Worked to create and collect team-appointed deliverables from team members, and collated them into a single report for submission.
- Consistently hosted open discussion about project direction and design conflicts with team members, filling logical gaps and project grey areas.
Video
- Wrote a majority of the script, ensuring key features and future plans were discussed, and did all voice work.
- Compiled and produced all video editing using Adobe Premier.
Results
- Test case was reviewed and all major ethical concerns about this particular implementation of drones was addressed.
- Out of 8 teams, we were the only ones to discuss security as the core feature, rather than a secondary design choice, providing unique opportunities of discussion about drone ethics.
